Biografía: A younger Blue Badge guide I bring lots of enthusiasm and experience of London life - high priorities are meeting people, sharing experiences and bringing over the fun, interesting aspects of London. The city is best seen from the streets (inside or outside a coach), popping into a pub or visiting a street market. I look to show both the familiar and less obvious sides and some of the stories behind the icons, e.g. red buses, black taxis and Thames bridges.

Earlier in life worked for 15 years in Fleet St and the City as both journalist and banker so know the importance of business and finance to London. I have lived abroad, in Germany and Poland. I guide in German as well as English. My interests are reflected in my qualifications, first degree in history at Cambridge, where I enjoy Graduate privileges and often take visitors. In London I took a History of Art MA at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies).

Intereses especiales: I have a keen interest in history and the development of London seen through its art and architecture, particularly Georgian and Victorian. The cathedrals and churches are a continual source of fascination. I guide the British Museum regularly and the National Gallery as well as lesser known places such as the Wallace Collection, the Sir John Soane Museum and Kenwood House.

London's buzz reflects its vibrant contemporary scene, with 'new' visitor areas such as Docklands, Southwark and Notting Hill, as well as its ethnic diversity, places such as Brixton and Brick Lane are fascinating to visit. I lead walks in central areas including Bloomsbury, Soho, Westminster, St James, the City. Mysteries are included and I tour the Da Vinci Code sites and associated places (Freemasons/Religious Societies). I live near Highgate and arrange tours of north London, e.g. walking tours of Highgate/Hampstead.

I am available to do regional tours, particularly of South and South West England and of Cambridge and area including Ely and Newmarket.
